Dr. Risa Schulman

Hi, I’m Dr. Risa Schulman. I am a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician and have been practicing locally for over 10 years. Most recently, I served as Medical Director at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Amesbury, MA. I love the relationships I’ve formed with multiple generations of families as I’ve helped them navigate the changes and challenges of life and health.
Like many doctors, I have become frustrated by the red tape and waste that have placed unnecessary barriers between me and my patients, compromising our relationship and their care. I went into medicine to help people, not to fill out forms and click buttons on a computer screen. I have founded my Direct Primary Care Practice to return family medicine to its roots: clinical excellence, compassionate knowledge of each individual patient, and accessibility.
I love the opportunity to get to know each and every unique patient, and I support diversity of all kinds. I practice evidence based medicine, but I welcome the challenge of finding creative solutions that may not fit within conventional medical care.
When not practicing medicine, you can find me chasing after my 3 young children, trying to find time to run through the woods, and eating sushi.
